Acute Rehabilitation Unit

Evergreen Hospital Medical Center

PROFILE   The ARU is a 17 bed unit created in 2002 to provide comprehensive rehabilitative care for physically or cognitively  impaired adults.
 
UNIT FOCUS   The unit focus is the design and delivery of care that will maximize the patient’s maximum recovery of function. 

PATIENT CARE DELIVERY MODEL   We provide a team approach for the delivery of comprehensive and personalized patient and family centered care.

TEAM MEMBERS   The Acute Rehabilitation team is a perfect blend of nursing staff, physical, speech and occupational therapy supported by the Medical Director, nursing administrative and case management staff.
 
SCHEDULING PRACTICES   Our staff driven scheduling provides 24/7 coverage based on a repeating two week cyclic pattern. Staff input to the schedule maintains the flexibility the unit and staff require.
 
STAFF ORIENTATION   Individualized orientation is provided utilizing a combination of class time, preceptor guided hands on care all designed to meet the needs of the experienced to novice nurse.

EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES   Weekly education and staff development opportunities are available in house. Nurses also receive a generous education fund that allows them to attend community or national seminars.
